The 17th IEEE SENSORS Conference was held in New Delhi, India the capital city of India for 4 days. In its 17-year history, this is the first visit of the IEEE SENSORS Conference to India. This is the most famous conference in sector of sensors and it is one of the world's leading international conferences in this field.
About 920 submissions were accepted in the conference, of which 484 was presented during the Conference. Accepted papers are divided into 234 oral and 250 poster presentations determined by author preference, suitability, session planning and other considerations. All contributed papers went through an identical peer-review process; finally, accepted papers were published in the Conference Proceedings, available electronically on IEEE Xplore.
My research title was "Flowing H2 gas concentration was measured for the first time by using ultrasound". H2 was flowing inside a pipe and the concentration was measured from exterior of the pipe without extracting the gas from the pipe. The concentration measurement was based on speed variation of the ultrasound travelling inside the pipe through the gases. To measure the H2 concentration drilling a hole in the pipe to extract the gases is not necessary. In this study, concentration of the H2 gas in a flowing air was measured accurately inside the pipe. It was found that it is possible to measure the H2 gas concentration variation in more than 50 m/s of the airflow. The response time of measuring the gas concentration was less than 0.1 s.
We conducted a poster presentation at the conference titled "Flowing H2 gas concentration was measured for the first time by using ultrasound". At the poster presentation, various researchers got interested in and we were able to make meaningful discussions.
In this meeting, there are presentations in various fields as well as ultrasonic sensors, participating in announcements and demonstrations in different research fields has become a big stimulus for themselves. Also, at the poster presentation, there was opportunity for discussion with researchers in the same research field and it was very meaningful to obtain knowledge about future research activities.
Attending the IEEE SENSORS conference was a great experience for me and I was able to gain an incredible experience to meet the atmosphere of the international conference and people from overseas researchers. I answered the question I received as much as I could.
Lastly, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Marubun Foundation for their great support in participating in the plenary session.
